...is to stay
and heal one's soul
stop and breathe,
it’s not time to go
The months are numbered
the days are through
the year is ending
look how far
we've managed
to endure
candles and fragrant flowers are steady
like ice, the breeze gets chilly
bus ports and terminals are busy
pillows and long night sleeps are waiting
The rested have slept for ages
ours is yet to come
for our physical bodies became wasted
to rest is our way to become
Days of remembering the fallen is numbered,
honor the stories they've left
For us to cherish ours, rejuvenate the living flesh
For long we've fought our battles
the time to repose is best
Enjoy and remember, live and loosen up
Hush now, my dear, lay down
and rest.
