The University of Glasgow (UoG), based on Scotland, and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) have agreed to forge international links and academic cooperation last September 11, 2018.

Prof. Philipina A. Marcelo, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, met with Prof. Frank Coton, Ph.D., Vice-Principal (Academic & Educational Innovation), and Prof. Trevor Hoey, Ph.D., TNE Director (School of Geographical and Earth Sciences), of the UoG at the Rector’s Hall in UST’s Main Building to discuss the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding for the proposed establishment of academic cooperation between the universities.

The agreed Memorandum of Understanding states that its purpose is to “develop academic and educational co-operation and to promote mutual understanding between the two Parties.”

This includes, but not limited to, the exchange of academic and administrative staff, students, and of information and materials that may provide significant boosts in the various fields of both academes, and a pool of scholarships that benefits both the postgraduate and undergraduate institutions.
