Senior Chemical Engineering (ChE) students presented the reports of their industry immersion and internships to the 4th year ChE students, last September 7, 2018 at the Engineering Conference Hall.
The reports included the companies’ profiles, the processes inside their field of study, and the students’ field work, projects, experiences and hands-on learnings during the special term of the academic year 2017 to 2018. Based on the presentations, the immersions engaged the students to the real-time vocation practices and came away with relevant competencies.
The UST Chemical Engineering department’s partner companies were the Phoenix Petroleum, Emerson, Salinas, Pampanga’s Best, Petron, Asia Brewery, JGC Philippines, Universal Robina Company, Rebisco; and with the recent forged partnership, the Fresh n’ Famous Inc. – Chowking, which is a subsidiary of the Jollibee Foods Corporation.
The event aims to encourage the 4th year students in their upcoming on-the-job training in the next special term, and to bridge the gap between the prospects of the industry and thee students.
The next industry immersion presentation will be held on October 5, 2018 at the Engineering Conference Hall.
