A group of Chemical Engineering students were accepted to Chulalongkorn University (CU), Bangkok, Thailand for their 55-day immersion program in the Center for Excellence in Particle Technology (CEPT) from June 8 to August 1, 2018.
The UST team composed of Angela Nicole Morabe, Lovella Kate Sabile, and Rhoan Irish Dimakiling, all 5th year students, were under the supervision of Engr. Florencio Delos Reyes, RCh, M.Sc. from UST ChE department and Assoc. Prof. Tawatchai Charinpanitkul, D.Eng from CU. The team’s research “Synthesis and characterization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) derived from citronella oil (Cymbopogon nardus) via catalytic chemical vapor deposition assisted with ferrocence” is focused on the challenge of converting a potential precursor into carbon nanotubes for high-valued applications.
The team is continuously working with CU on their manuscript and requirements for the upcoming 7th Joint Conference on Renewable Energy and Nanotechnology (JCREN 2018) which will be held on December 1 to 3, 2018 at Yamaguchi University, Ube, Japan. R.C.Gan
